THE MARKET

The economy of Lithium is structured to keep the value of coin as high and consistent as possible. No economy is perfect, but we strive to provide the best we possibly can.

The currency used here is coin of three metals: copper, silver, and gold. Copper is by far the most common, while gold is very rare and difficult to obtain. The exchange rate is as follows:

  • 50 copper is 1 silver.

  • 50 silver is 1 gold.

Yes, you did that math correctly. It takes 2,500 copper coins to equal the value of 1 gold coin. This is intentional. You need to work for your gold! Don't worry, though. The prices of all NPC sell and buy tables will be reasonable to keep the value of copper high.

Information & Rules

INFORMATION

NPC TABLES

The starter town will come equipped with a few basic NPC tables where you can buy necessary items and sell your wares for coin. This includes a table where you can obtain a starter pack.

The prices of buy tables that sell items directly related to professions are set intentionally high. They exist to bridge the gap for when there are not enough players to have consistent access to a profession, not to replace a profession entirely.

Sell tables are where you make the majority of your coin in server. There, you can sell items you produce using your profession(s) for a profit. It won't be as much of a profit as if you were selling to other players, to encourage trading, but it isn't unreasonable.

NPC Tables

PLAYER TABLES

To sell your goods at a sell table, you'll need to join the Merchant's Guild or find someone who already has. Merchants are given access to blueprints to craft the necessary tables, and are the only ones who can place down and use said tables. It is up to the merchant whether they decide to charge you for their services!

  • All sell tables must be placed within the market of the starter town.

  • Blueprints may not be sold at a sell table, though they may be sold in person.

  • You may decorate your table(s), but please keep an eye on frame rates as you do so.

In general, just be respectful, be reasonable, and enjoy making money!

AUCTIONS

Once a week, every Wednesday at 7p EST, staff will host an auction at the market.

  • All characters may participate in an auction without prejudice.

    • All personal umbrage with each other must be set aside.

  • A character may sell a maximum of 5 creatures and/or items at once at an auction.

    • This is to help limit lag as well as time an auction takes to complete.

  • Local chat text must be used for those bidding, to keep things clear and fair.

    • Bids made using voice will be discounted.

  • Once a lot has been sold, the buyer must give payment to the seller. The seller will then take the payment and sign over the lot for the buyer.

    • If a buyer does not have enough coin, the next highest bid may purchase the lot instead.

  • Staff-hosted auctions have no set list of things that will be available for bid, though you might get a sneak peek if you hang around the auction area.

  • A member of the Merchant's Guild may host an auction independent of a staff auction.

    • There must be a minimum of 2 sellers, excluding the merchant.

    • A single merchant can only host one auction every 3 days.

To host an auction, simply open a ticket in #support.

BREEDING LICENSES

Breeding Licenses (BLs) are licenses that every character can purchase in order to gain the right to breed a type of creature.

  • A Breeding License can only be obtained for a creature that spawns and is tameable for the current season.

    • The creature may be one that requires study/research to unlock but it must be unlocked before it can be tamed.

    • Hunters must still tame the creature for you.

  • A character may only have one Breeding License at any given time.

    • Hunters do not need to purchase BLs because they can breed creatures by default.

  • A BL costs 1 gold to purchase initially, and will never expire.

  • A BL is good for one species of creature only.

    • Creature variants do not count.

    • i.e. A BL for a Trike does not count for Ab Trikes as well.

  • The species for which a BL has been purchased can be changed as many times as you wish, and costs an increasing amount of gold to do so.

    • Each purchase of a species change doubles in price.

      • i.e. First change is 2 gold, second change is 4 gold, third change is 8 gold, and so on.

  • BLs grant the owner the right to breed their specific creature, but this right is not exclusive.

    • A single species of creature may have unlimited BLs for it.

To purchase BL, simply open a ticket in #support.

DISBOARD

You can earn coins by bumping our listing on Disboard using the #disboard-bumping channel. Each bump you do successfully will earn you 2 copper coins, to be given by a staff member when they see it/are alerted to it.

Be aware, the server as a whole can only be bumped once every two hours, so you'll be competing with other members to see who gets it fastest. Keep an eye on the channel and strike while the iron's hot! If you found this, congrats. There are a total of 53 achievements. Have fun

BOOSTS, GIVEAWAYS, AND MORE

On occasion, staff may decide to give members a little something extra. This can come in the form of a boost, where winnings are multiplied during a certain time frame. A giveaway, where you can enter to win some coins. Or perhaps even just as a tip for being an awesome person.
